Dr. Meenakshi Jain

Dr. Meenakshi Jain is Associate Director and Head - Internal Medicine at Max Multispeciality Hospital in Noida. Max Healthcare is the second largest healthcare provider in the private sector in the Delhi NCR area. Apart from rendering clinical services, Dr. Jain is Coordinator of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Noida hospital and has been instrumental in developing the department since she joined the Max Healthcare group in July 2002.

Dr. Meenakshi Jain's duties include running the Internal Medicine OPD seeing around 40 patients daily with an average of 20 diabetic patients, taking emergency calls in Internal Medicine, managing critical patients in Medical Intensive Care units and providing specialist care for diabetics in the Coronary Care units and ICU department. Her other responsibilities include managing medical disorders in all pregnant women visiting as outpatient or admitted in the hospital; and managing gestational diabetes in almost all the pregnant patients of the obstetrics department with holistic support in terms of diet counselling, exercise, insulin administration, etc. In addition, she separately runs a MEDICAL cum DIABETES OBESITY CLINIC – Dr. Meenakshi's Wellness Clinic – at sector 27 in Noida, with an average of twenty patients per day mostly with diabetes, PCOS, and other metabolic syndrome conditions.

Dr. Meenakshi Jain also holds the following administrative posts at Max Multispeciality Hospital:

• Medical Advisor – a prestigious post with responsibility of handling about 100 Senior Consultants of various specialities attached to the hospital, in their medical and administrative issues.
• Chairman of the Governing Body (Hospital Medical Executive Committee), which includes top clinicians of the hospital to help facilitate hospital growth and patient safety.
• Chairman of the Performance Improvement Safety Committee, whose aim is to help in growth of hospital while maintaining a culture of patient safety.
• Chairman of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee, dealing with any moral and conduct issues in the workplace.
• Chairman of Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, participating in procurement and purchasing of the best brands of medicine and updating the pharmacy with the latest medications and supply.

Dr. Meenakshi Jain graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, in 1993. After completing a one-year rotating internship at LNJP Hospital and MAMC, she commenced her post-graduation at the same institutions for the MD (Internal Medicine) degree, which she received in 1998. Before taking up her current post at Max Healthcare, Dr. Jain worked as Senior Resident at GTB Hospital and University College of Medical Sciences (1998-99), and then at LNJP Hospital and MAMC (1999-2001). She was instrumental in starting the continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) programme at LNJP Hospital, which was the first of its kind in any Delhi hospital at that time.

Dr. Meenakshi Jain's areas of specialisation are diabetes and autoimmune diseases. She has a keen interest in the field of HIV and related disorders. Her practical skills include bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture, intercostal drainage, CVP and arterial line placements, temporary pacemaker implantation and pericardiocentasis. Dr. Jain's research activities have led to many publications and paper presentations at the national level; details of some of her publications in peer-reviewed, indexed journals are mentioned elsewhere on this website. She has also been active in public service, participating regularly in charitable diabetic camps organised by the Noida Diabetic Forum, delivering guest lectures in corporate houses and schools on topics relaqting to diabetes, hypertension, obesity and stress disorders, etc. She organises a free medical camp on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for recognition and awareness of Diabetes at her Wellness Clinic in Noida.
